Just as San Juan de Yanayacu has secured safe, reliable drinking water through a community‑driven clean‑water system, Ayacucho Village faces many of the same challenges—and the same urgent need for a sustainable solution. Located along the remote waterways of Northeast Peru, Ayacucho has long depended on the river for every aspect of daily life. But without filtration or disinfection, families are exposed to the waterborne diseases that have affected neighboring communities for generations.

Children are especially vulnerable. Frequent illness keeps them out of school and forces parents to travel long distances for medical care. This cycle is preventable, and the community is eager for change.

Building on the success and lessons learned in San Juan de Yanayacu, the Rotary Club of Evergreen and its partners are now working to bring a clean water system to Ayacucho Village as well. The vision is clear: a safe, community‑led water source that protects health, strengthens education, and supports long‑term resilience.
